Training Ride 8-19-2006
Today was an awesome ride. David, Glenn and I rode here in Middlebury, Down Rt 64 into Woodbury, Left onto Route 6 in Woodbury toward Southbury, Left on Old Waterbury Road ( whew! what a hill!) toward 84 Exit 15, then left onto 188 back toward Middlebury.
It was the first time that I pushed Glenn a little harder not by pushing harder, but rather by spinning easier and at a faster cadence. We averaged about 14 miles per hour which is a good improvement over our past rides considering we had some great hills.
We have been using Garmin GPS units to track our progress toward the Century for the Livestrong foundation. I highly recommend these units. Glenn uses the 305 ( I wish I had one!) The 305 measures and tracks your heart rate and cadence. Both are great features to track when you are measureing your progress. I am using the 205. It is a nice unit but lacks the Heart rate and Cadence features.
We will be riding 100 miles to raise $ for cancer survivors in Philladelphia, PA on September 10th 2006.
If you are interested in joining us, please drop me a note here.
